Sunday 26th September, 2004 was truly a day of Fun, Family and Food for First National Credit Union.
The long awaited First National Credit Union Family Day, organised by
the Education Committee was held at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.
Board Members, Staff, branch members and their families and invited
guests all joined in the Family Day and Cook Out 2004 entitled
“Elements”. The branches Earth- Rio Claro, Wind- Point Fortin, Fire-
Siparia and Water-Curepe competed against each other the March Past,
Novelty Games and the “Cook Out”.
The
events of the day kicked off with the inspection of the March Past
teams by Ms. Ingrid Campbell, President of First National Credit Union,
Mr. James Lambert, Vice President of First National Credit Union and
Mr. Gary Cross, President of the Cooperative Credit Union League
Trinidad and Tobago.
“Fire”
Siparia was declared the winner of the march past with their “hot, hot”
marching and original portrayal, “Wind” Point Fortin and “Water” Curepe
tied for second place while “Earth” Rio Claro came fourth. “Fire”

The
Cook out competition was no easy task for the judges. Curepe washed
away its competitors in the Cook Out with Provision and Salt fish and
Stew Pork and Provision. Curry and Paratha from Rio Claro and the Pelau
from Siparia was no match for the Curry Crab and Dumpling by Point
Fortin which came second in the “Cook Out”
“Wind”
Point Fortin –blew away its competitors with a clean sweep in the
novelty events. Their level of cooperation, skill and coordination was
no match for them. They were followed by “Fire” Siparia, “Earth” Rio Claro and “Water” Curepe.
First
National Credit Union would like to thank all persons that assisted in
making the event a success and is looking forward to more fun, family
and food next year.
